Lyra is an active red and white girl. She is charming and will steal your heart, but she is ALL whippet puppy. Lyra is a mild-mannered lady when you first meet but she is always up for exercise and adventure.
She is engaged, loves being around people and does well with other dogs, including males, puppies and other breeds. Lyra has interacted well with kids, has shown no interest in livestock or horses, but has not been tested around cats.
Lyra loves to sleep in your bed or a dog bed. She loves to walk in her lead with a martingale collar and is interested in her environment but pays more attention to her human. She is learning how to ride in a crate in the car and always loves the attention from others.
A fenced yard is a must and she would do best if she had another canine companion. Sighthound experience is needed for this pup and she will be better suited not left alone for long periods of time.
Lyra is a special girl. With lots of love and attention, she will make a lovely companion. She is looking for her next great pack.
An adoption application is REQUIRED to be submitted before you contact a WRAP foster volunteer about this rescue or others currently available for adoption. Please submit an application. WRAP volunteers may respond to applicants and will make final decisions on adoptions. We will keep your application on file for six months.
WRAP does not ship dogs and prefers to place Whippets in homes within a reasonable driving distance from the foster home.
