Rooney is a sweet and soulful 8 year old male Whippet fostered in West Jefferson, NC. This handsome gentleman is the perfect blend of affectionate companion and outdoors explorer. Once he feels safe and settled, his loving personality really shines through, and he quickly becomes a devoted friend.
He’s an Class A cuddler who’s more than happy to earn his keep by keeping you warm on the couch—or snuggled up in bed with you! After a refreshing night’s sleep, he’s always up for a morning walk. Car rides are one of his favorite adventures!
In his previous home, Rooney struggled with a sudden lifestyle change, but with patience, a calm environment, and a consistent routine, he’s been making great strides and learning how to relax and enjoy life again. While he’s okay being crated for short periods (like while you’re out running errands or enjoying an evening dinner out), like most Whippets, he’s made it clear that extended confinement isn’t for him.
Rooney gets along well with kiddos, but he hasn’t been tested with cats. What this sensitive fella needs most is a kind, understanding adopter who is more of a homebody and will give him the time and space to settle in and blossom at his own pace.
