Pippin and Finnigan are eight-year-old, neutered male littermates who share an exceptionally strong bond and must remain together. They were cherished by their original owner, who recently passed away. Since then, they have been cared for by relatives and a foster, awaiting an ideal home in which to spend their remaining years. Initially reserved, both dogs quickly show a strong desire for affection and closeness with their caregivers.

Both Pip and Finn experience separation anxiety and are sensitive to loud noises, such as fireworks; however, they feel secure when crated together during these times as well as when there are brief absences. Accustomed to sleeping together in the same crate at night, Pip and Finn also appreciate opportunities to join their person on the bed. Both are quiet and gentle companions, often seeking physical contact by resting a paw on their caregiver’s foot.

Pip and Finn will use a doggie door, enjoy walks, like to chase each other in the yard and, above all, prefer cuddling with their human family members at home. They are current on vaccinations and recent bloodwork confirms they are in good health. These dogs would be ideally suited for someone who spends most of their time at home in a calm environment. They interact well with other mature, similarly-sized, calm dogs but always prefer to be with each other. They are not good candidates for a dog park, busy events or a home with active young children.

Along with a complete application, potential adopters need sighthound experience, understand these boys will be adopted together, and have the patience to help these velcro pups thrive in a new environment. Please complete an adoption application.

An adoption application is REQUIRED to be submitted before you contact a WRAP foster volunteer about this rescue or others currently available for adoption. Please submit an application. WRAP volunteers may respond to applicants and will make final decisions on adoptions. We will keep your application on file for six months.

WRAP does not ship dogs and prefers to place Whippets in homes within a reasonable driving distance from the foster home. If the WRAP volunteer fostering a dog does not live in your state you may contact them at the email address shown above to inquire after you have submitted an adoption application.
