Willy is 2 and a half yr old neutered male, breeder unknown, who was turned in by a woman in a bad home situation. Willy is a petite 22.6 lbs, and obviously could use a few pounds. He is super sweet, very loving and dependent on humans, good with other dogs but cautious. He is perfectly housebroken, leash trained, tolerates a crate, but has great house manners and can be left loose in the house. Willy has never been around children or cats. He is current on all his vaccines, and is heartworm negative. Willy’s ideal home is with a person that will return his loyalty and love, and allow him on their furniture and in their bed. He is a under the covers, snuggler, kind of boy. He is microchipped. A fenced yard is always a plus! Willy has been passed around in his short life and really needs a Forever home who will return all his love and loyalty he will give. Willy is being fostered in Sarasota.

Adopted: Clooney, adult male, Atlanta, GA

Edit

Name of Whippet, Location: Clooney, adult male, Atlanta, GA
Location Category: Georgia
Name of foster volunteer: Michelle Legan

Address: Atlanta, GA

Clooney is a dashing fella with big whippet ears who turned 9 in October. He’s a happy & healthy guy full of charisma and charm! His elderly owner surrendered Clooney because he could no longer care for him full time. He is very affectionate with excellent manners so he was obviously well-taken care of and loved.

He would really enjoy a whippet pal who he can play and snuggle with, but he would be okay as an only dog with an active human who lets him sleep under the covers at bedtime. At a larger 40 lbs, he likes to maintain his good muscle tone with daily walks (before nap time!).

He’s 100% potty trained but isn’t a fan of the crate, which is okay since he wouldn’t dream of being destructive. He is such a good boy! He would do fine with older kids but not with cats. WRAP ID #17-005

Adopted: Rink, male whippet in Broomall, PA

Edit

Name of Whippet, Location: ADOPTED: Rink, male whippet in Broomall, PA
Location Category: Now Adopted
Name of foster volunteer: Janet Curtiss
Email: whippetastic@gmail.com     Phone:
Address:

Meet Rink. He is an 11 year old gentleman living in PA outside Philadelphia. He up to date on vaccines, heart worm negative and just had a dental to remove 13 teeth. Rink is in a foster home because his owner died suddenly and he had nowhere else to go. He is such a sweet dog with a very waggy tail and gives little kisses. He loves people especially men and likes to have them around but he gets upset and howls when left alone. For this reason a home that has someone home more than not AND another dog would be the best fit for this senior.
Rink loves to eat, but is not putting on weight so he is a bit thin. He has learned to use a dog door and walks really well on a leash. He sometimes sleeps on the bed with his fosters, too.
Please consider Rink if you have an extra dog bed that needs to be filled.

Name of Whippet, Location: Abby, adult female in Ft. Wayne, Indiana
Location Category: Indiana
Name of foster volunteer: Ruth Beall
Email: rhbeall@hotmail.com     Phone:
Address: Ft. Wayne, Indiana

Abby is very friendly, sweet and affectionate. She is eight years old, 35 pounds, beautiful and very graceful. She loves to go on walks, loves to play, and best of all, would dearly love to share your couch and maybe a spot in your bed. Whenever she sits for treats, she lifts her paw to shake hands.

She would do best in a home with other Whippets or other dogs her size or larger, or a home where someone is home most of the time. She has done fine in our home with other dogs, cats, men and women, and lived previously with children.

Abby is heartworm negative and up to date on all vaccinations. She will be adopted out to a family within reasonable driving distance of Indiana. If you are interested in adopting Abby, please fill out an Adoption Application. If you live in Indiana our foster volunteer, Ruth Beall, will receive your application. Location Category: California
Name of foster volunteer: Craig Morley
Email: dcraigmorley@gmail.com     Phone:

All eleven puppies have been adopted and are doing wonderfully in their new homes. The mother is a whippet that came into WRAP as a stray halfway through her pregnancy. The father is undetermined.

A great deal of time was taken every day to raise and care for the litter and make sure they were socialized well. The puppies are able to climb stairs and use the doggie door. They have had their first vaccinations and are microchipped.

See an album of the puppies on Facebook:
