Adopted – Pippin & Finnegan – 8 y/o males, Arizona

Pippin and Finnigan are eight-year-old, neutered male littermates who share an exceptionally strong bond and must remain together. They were cherished by their original owner, who recently passed away. Since then, they have been cared for by relatives and a foster, awaiting an ideal home in which to spend their remaining years. Initially reserved, both dogs quickly show a strong desire for affection and closeness with their caregivers.

Both Pip and Finn experience separation anxiety and are sensitive to loud noises, such as fireworks; however, they feel secure when crated together during these times as well as when there are brief absences. Accustomed to sleeping together in the same crate at night, Pip and Finn also appreciate opportunities to join their person on the bed. Both are quiet and gentle companions, often seeking physical contact by resting a paw on their caregiver’s foot.

Pip and Finn will use a doggie door, enjoy walks, like to chase each other in the yard and, above all, prefer cuddling with their human family members at home. They are current on vaccinations and recent bloodwork confirms they are in good health. These dogs would be ideally suited for someone who spends most of their time at home in a calm environment. They interact well with other mature, similarly-sized, calm dogs but always prefer to be with each other. They are not good candidates for a dog park, busy events or a home with active young children.

Along with a complete application, potential adopters need sighthound experience, understand these boys will be adopted together, and have the patience to help these velcro pups thrive in a new environment.

ADOPTED- Sam – 2 year old male – Kansas City, MO

Edit

Name of Whippet, Location: ADOPTED- Sam – 2 year old male – Kansas City, MO
Location Category: Missouri
Name of foster volunteer: Sam
Email: ducktracey@duck.com     Phone:
Address: Kansas City, MO

Sam is a handsome and petite boy, weighing just 26 pounds.

Sam came to WRAP with a broken leg and had a surgical repair. He is finishing up with his recovery. He will soon be ready to go to his forever family. Sam is doing great in his foster home and loves spending time with his greyhound foster siblings. He is sweet and adorable with a big, funny personality. He loves the backyard, cuddling, and toys. We do not yet know if Sam is cat-safe. Sam has no experience with children but he seems nervous when he encounters them on walks.

The ideal family for Sam will:
*Be in the Kansas City area, within 1 hour of Liberty, MO where he will need at least one follow up vet visit.
*Have a fenced back yard. He loves spending time laying in the grass.
*Have a dog to be his companion.
*Be patient. Sam was very timid when he came into his foster family but has become relaxed, happy and comfortable at home. However, meeting new people and dogs or going to new places are all still scary for him. He’ll need someone who can be calm and patient with him as he acclimates in his new home. He’ll need someone to make him feel safe when he visits new places or meets new people.
*Not take him on lots of car rides. Sam finds car rides scary. He prefers to be held and comforted by a passenger. We assume, like other things, in time this will get better.
*Take him on walks – Walks are an important part of Sam’s recovery to build strength in his leg.
*Love cuddles. Sam needs to burrow under covers and cuddle up to his people. While he spends part of the night sleeping in a dog bed or his crate, at times he needs to sleep with his people.
*Have room for a crate. Sam finds great comfort in having a crate to relax in. When he’s not cuddling or lounging in the yard, he often chooses to nap in his crate….which he fills with his favorite toys.
*Have lots of love to give to this very sweet little boy.

Only applications in the KC-area will be considered.

Adopted! Paddy 8 yr old male in MN

Hi! My name is Paddy!
I am a very sweet boy. All I want is to be next to you! I’m a lover. I want to sleep in your bed and sit in your chair with you.

I am very energetic. I like to have someone play toys with me, rather than playing by myself. I will even bring it back if you throw it! I also love running with other dogs.

I’m a bit timid at first, but I warm up quickly. I do like to bark. My foster Mom has been helping me figure out that barking is not appropriate in every situation. I get along with my four legged housemates, but have trouble respecting their personal space. I just want them to play with me, but I don’t always take no for an answer.

My ideal home would have a fenced in yard for me to run in and a furry playmate my size. I like kids, and would be a great pet for a family with kids that are old enough to play with me and give me lots of loves. I don’t think I would get along with a cat.

If you think I might be your forever boy, please contact my foster mom. I can’t wait to meet you!
